Puddle Pumps
Puddle pumps remove water down to just a few millimetres of depth, leaving floors and surfaces almost dry where standard submersible pumps would leave centimetres of standing water. They are essential for flood clean-up, cellars, and low-level drainage.
What is a Puddle Pump?
A puddle pump, also known as a low-level or residue pump, is a submersible pump with its intake at the very base of the unit, allowing it to draw water down to a residual depth of typically 1 to 5 mm. Many models feature integrated sensors or manual operation for controlled pump-down.
How it works
- The pump sits directly on the flooded floor or surface.
- Water enters through low-set intake ports at the pump's base.
- The impeller discharges water through the outlet hose to a drain.
- Pumping continues until only millimetres of residual water remain.
